The Tema Oil Refinery will resume operations this morning after a temporary shutdown. Production is said to have stalled for the past two weeks because TOR has been unable to secure crude.
\nSources however tell Joy News a cargo of 1.2 million barrels of crude oil ordered by government arrived in December and that the workers will resume refining this morning.
\nThe refinery has had to be shut down intermittently since 2008 in what managers say is to facilitate renovation and refurbishment of the facility.
\nThe shut-downs has in the past been blamed for the shortage of material used by textile companies, some of which even threatened to lay off their workers.
\nThey complained their cost of production had risen astronomically as they had to import the materials at a great cost.
