\nA GNA visit to the Market Circle area of Takoradi revealed that soap, cooking oil, confectioneries, dairy products, rice, yam, plantain and sachet water have gone up.
\nA bar of key soap that previously sold at GhC2.10p now sells at GHC2.40p, a packet of biscuit (shortbread), which sold at GHC2, now goes for GHC2.20, a tin of milk now sells at GHC1.10 as against the previous figure of GHC1.
\nSachet water now sells at GHC1.20p as against 80p.
\nA small size tuber of yam which was sold at GHC1.50p now goes for GHC2, while three pieces of plantain which used to be 50p now sells at GHC1.
\nMame Araba Ofori, a trader, told the GNA that carting of goods was now costly and so the only way was to increase their goods in order to break even.
