The New Patriotic Party UK branch has issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the editor of the LENS newspaper to retract a publication suggesting they were demanding the dismissal of the party\u2019s General Secretary. They are also asking for an apology.
\nAn article published in the newspaper yesterday and widely circulated on the internet says the UK branch of NPP has written to the party\u2019s chairman demanding the removal of Kwadjo Owussu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John.
\nBut chairman of the UK branch of the NPP, Hayford Kwesi Atta Krufi says that is untrue. \u201cWe are wondering where Kobby Fiagbe (Editor of LENS) and his team got that information from because there is absolutely no iota of truth, we haven\u2019t even contemplated that, we believe Sir John is working extremely hard for the party and therefore there will be no reason or cause for us to ask for his removal,\u201d he told Joy News\u2019 Sammy Darko.
\nHe said the UK branch of the party did not write any letter to Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey regarding Sir John and insisted \u201cit is a journalistic travesty for a newspaper to come out on its own and create such a huge fabrication so it really calls for a legal action against them.\u201d
\nBut the editor of the LENS newspaper Kobby Fiagbe is standing by his story and is refusing to retract and apologise. He said the UK NPP must be “dreaming” if they expect an apology from him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
