{"id":273389,"date":"2011-01-10T15:48:30","date_gmt":"2011-01-10T15:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/?p=46067"},"modified":"2011-01-10T15:48:30","modified_gmt":"2011-01-10T15:48:30","slug":"31st-embodies-principles-that-formed-ndcit-also-enlightened-ghanaians-quashigah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/01\/10\/31st-embodies-principles-that-formed-ndcit-also-enlightened-ghanaians-quashigah\/","title":{"rendered":"31st Embodies Principles That Formed NDC\u2026It Also Enlightened Ghanaians &#8211; Quashigah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment_44629\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44629\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-44629\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/01\/04\/photo-former-president-rawlings-puts-his-hand-into-flames-at-the-2010-coup-celebration\/jj_fire2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44629\" title=\"jj_fire2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/jj_fire2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44629\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former President Rawlings<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nPropaganda Secretary of the ruling  National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Quashigah, has acclaimed  President John Evans Atta Mills for his statement on the celebration of  31st December revolution by NDC apologists, saying the President could  not have given a better answer to the question fired at him, since the  NDC was founded on the principles of the coup that toppled the Limann  administration.<br \/>\nPresident Mills stated emphatically during his interaction with journalists at the Castle, Osu, during the \u201c<strong>Action Year<\/strong>\u201d  Editors Forum, that he cannot prevent former President Rawlings and the  ministers of his government from celebrating the 31st December 1981  coup because it is the Founder\u2019s Day of the ruling NDC.<br \/>\nThe  President noted that all the political parties have a Founder\u2019s Day, and  that there was nothing wrong if the NDC, which he belonged to, also  decides to celebrate theirs.<br \/>\nSpeaking on <strong>e-TV\u2019s Breakfast TV<\/strong> Newspaper Review, the National Propaganda Secretary of the NDC pointed  out that one cannot be a member of the party and deny the revolution,  because 31st December made the NDC.<br \/>\nAccording to him, the  revolution embodies the principles that govern the formation of the NDC  party, and the NDC lives by those principles.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is nothing  wrong with what President Mills said concerning the celebration of 31st  December because it made the NDC; clearly that is the principle that has  governed the formation of the NDC because those principles make the  NDC. You can\u2019t be an NDC and deny 31st December because it was a  revolution that actually tells us the state of uselessness that our  fathers were in,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nTo him, 31st December marked the day  the country was transformed from a low society to a better place; adding  that, it was the time Ghana moved from darkness into light, the  beginning of the country\u2019s forward march.<br \/>\nMr. Quashigah stressed  that before the Rawlings-led coup that overthrew the Limann  administration;
