Nathaniel Asamoah, one of the newly recruited players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko ‘showed’ his former club, Wa All Stars that it was worth maintaining him than selling him to Kotoko when he humiliated supporters of All Stars with two cheeky goals in their Glo Premier League played at the Wa Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The player who played as the head arrow of Kotoko, received a ball from the left flank, sorted it out from two attackers of All Stars and as he raised his head he spotted keeper Dabou off his line and released an unexpected shot into the far corner of the goal post to register the first goal for Kotoko in the 25th minute.

The goal created an instant dead silence in the stadium with many of the supporters from then shouting at the home players to raise the tempo of their game in anticipation to score an equalizer.

However with the technical and tactical play adopted, the Wa Boys continued to be frustrated anytime they came into the goal area of Kotoko as they packed the midfield and defence, which made it highly impossible for the homesters to penetrate their goal area.

With the strategy adopted by Kotoko’s technical bench, it only paved the way for the Wa Boys to play all the beautiful game in the midfield but with no results until the Referee Mercy Tagoe brought proceedings for the first half to an end.

Back from the recess, All Stars put extra energy into their play and consistently kept the Kotoko goal area boiling, and earned more than 10 corner kicks but they could not utilise any of them, with Kotoko’s keeper Isaac Amoako and his rear men standing their grounds and thwarting all the efforts put up by the home Lads.

Kotoko brought on Samad Oppong and Afranie Yeboah for Omar Gariba and Frank Boateng to strengthen their attacking line while Wa All Stars also brought in Seidu Salifu and Frank Nortey Sowah for Seidu Zida and Godfred Kwame Gyasi to beef up their attack.

Just as the supporters of All Stars were expecting an equalizer, Daniel Anokye and Oppong of Kotoko combined with inter positional changes that created leaks in the defence of All Stars.

It therefore came as no surprise when in a counter attach, Oppong rushed to the right flank, received a pinpoint cross and sent a cross to Nathaniel Asamoah who was hovering in the 18 yard of All Stars to easily slot in the second goal in 85th minute to ensure the Porcupine Warriors collect the three maximum points.

Try as they did, the home failed to getr even a consolation goal as the defence of Kotoko ably supported by Keeper Amoako ensured they denied them until the final whistle
