{"id":273297,"date":"2011-01-10T04:10:42","date_gmt":"2011-01-10T04:10:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/?p=45864"},"modified":"2011-01-10T04:10:42","modified_gmt":"2011-01-10T04:10:42","slug":"motorway-accident-victim-found-with-gunshot-wound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/01\/10\/motorway-accident-victim-found-with-gunshot-wound\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorway accident victim found with gunshot wound"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment_45865\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45865\" style=\"width: 350px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-45865\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/01\/10\/motorway-accident-victim-found-with-gunshot-wound\/rawlings_accident-car\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45865\" title=\"Rawlings_accident car\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Rawlings_accident-car.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"232\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45865\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former President Rawlings and the Police inspecting the victim&#39;s damaged car.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nFormer President Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings has expressed concern over a  spate of suspicious incidents on the Tema Motorway and has called on  the police to apply all their expertise to help get to the bottom of  these occurrences.<br \/>\nPresident Rawlings made the call when he  visited the Airport Police Station in Accra on Friday, following the  discovery of a gunshot wound on a young man whose car crashed on the  Motorway on Sunday, January 2.<br \/>\nIt also comes in the wake of two  incidents involving the former President\u2019s spokesperson and NDC Deputy  General Secretary, Kofi Adams and prior to that the former President\u2019s  driver who was involved in another incident on the same highway.<br \/>\nLast  November Adams was repeatedly crossed on the motorway at high speed by  another vehicle, forcing him to eventually run his car into the  shrubbery on the edge of the Motorway.<br \/>\nThe former president said  if there were people out there with ulterior motives no one was safe. He  enjoined the security agencies to do more to unravel these incidents  before it becomes a dangerous new local culture.<br \/>\nIn the latest  incident, Yakah Richard, believed to be in his 30s was found dead when  his Toyota Highlander sports utility vehicle violently skidded off the  motorway and crashed into a ditch.<br \/>\nIt was only when his body was  deposited at the 37 Military Hospital morgue that pathologists there  noticed a bullet wound. The shot had run through his chest and exited  through his back.<br \/>\nThe Commanding Officer of the Airport District  Police, Chief Superintendent Fosu Arkaah told President Rawlings that a  pistol was retrieved from the deceased\u2019s car.
