Development policy advisor, Dr. Sule Gariba says civil society must continue to rally the public to ensure that the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority project sees the light of day.
\nThe project which is aimed at bridging the development gap between the north and south has seen some delay due to government\u2019s delay in releasing the initial seed capital it promised.
\nThe Northern Patriots in Research Advocacy (NOPRA), in a petition, says government has until the end of January to respond to its concerns otherwise it would adopt alternative means to bring them to the fore.
\nIt laments that just about 50 million Ghana cedis of some 300 million due SADA has been released in the last two years.
\nDr. Gariba told Joy Business public interest in such initiatives is key.
\n\u201cWe urge organizations of civil society to be vigilant and to not only [criticise] but to get involved in pushing for the right thing to be done and for the right programmes to be in place,\u201d he said.
