The newly-introduced GSE Composite Index, the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell for the first trading session of the year, down 7.75 points to 992.25 points.
\nThe Change year to date now stands at 0.78 per cent.
\nThere were eight price changes \u2013 five positive and three negative.
\nAluworks Limited (ALW) gained GH\u00a20.01 to GH\u00a20.12, CAL Bank (CAL) was up GH\u00a20.02 to GH\u00a20.33 and Enterprise Group Limited (EGL) rose by GH\u00a20.01 to GH\u00a20.51.
\nOther gainers are Ghana Commercial Bank up by GH\u00a20.05 to GH\u00a22.70 and Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) rose by GH\u00a20.01 to GH\u00a20.29.
\nDecliners include Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) down GH\u00a20.01 at GH\u00a20.14; HFC Bank shed GH\u00a20.03 to GH\u00a20.41 and UT Bank closed lower by GH\u00a20.01 to GH\u00a20.28.
\nA total of 63,522 shares worth GH\u00a2213,290.88 exchanged hands.
\nMarket capitalisation is now at GH\u00a220,012.23 million.
