{"id":272676,"date":"2011-01-03T23:36:45","date_gmt":"2011-01-03T23:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/?p=44476"},"modified":"2011-01-03T23:36:45","modified_gmt":"2011-01-03T23:36:45","slug":"minister-says-ndc-has-brought-more-development-to-the-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/01\/03\/minister-says-ndc-has-brought-more-development-to-the-north\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister says NDC has brought more development to the north"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment_28467\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28467\" style=\"width: 269px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-28467\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2010\/10\/31\/chief-worries-about-attack-on-security-personnel\/john-tia_2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28467\" title=\"John Tia_2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/John-Tia_2.jpg\" alt=\"Minister of Information, Mr John Tia Akolgo\" width=\"269\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28467\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Minister of Information, Mr John Tia Akolgo<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nMr. John Tia Akologu, the Minister of  Information, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government  had brought more development to the three northern regions than the  previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.<br \/>\nHe said this  when he and the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Martin Amidu, paid  courtesy calls on some chiefs during a tour of districts in the region.<br \/>\nMr Akologu, the Member of Parliament for the Talensi, said it was the  previous NDC government that brought good roads to the north as well as  electricity and the present government is continuing with this  development agenda.<br \/>\nHe said travelling on the 100-mile  Tamale\/Bolgatanga road used to be an ordeal but this was brought to an  end following the construction of a first class road.<br \/>\nMr. Amidu said the government had a lot of good programmes and policies in place to address the poverty situation in the area.<br \/>\nThese include construction of more roads, rural electrification projects and portable water.<br \/>\nMr Amidu said the government was committed to the development of the  country and appealed to the chiefs and people to exercise restraint  whilst government delivers on its promises.<br \/>\nThe chiefs and  people were full of praise for the government for its good policies and  programmes and appealed for more development projects to help address  the disparities between the area and the South.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. John Tia Akologu, the Minister of Information, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government had brought more development to the three northern regions than the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
