WARRI- GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, weekend, expressed disappoint-ment at Itsekiri leaders over poor attendance at the presentation of two Itsekiri movies, Oma-tsen-tsen and Suara-la, by film producer, Mr. Alex Eyengho.<\/p>\n

However, after watching a preview of the two films, he encouraged the producer to stick to his God-given talent and profession, saying as a governor he has being in the fore-front of promo-ting local artistes and comedians in the state.<\/p>\n

Governor Uduaghan, who walked into the King George Centenary Hall, Warri, venue of the pre-sentation at 6:20pm, expressed shock that the hall was not filled to capacity in spite the wide publicity given to the presentations.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWhere is the who\u2019s who in Itsekiri land to support the noble cause of the producer?\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that the producer had done so much to project the Itsekiri language, customs and culture through film production.<\/p>\n

He then called for a situation where local language films and drama from the state would be aired on regular basis on major TV stations as is the case with Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa films and programmes.<\/p>\n

Uduaghan further said his love for the growth and development of local language films as well as local talents led him to appoint ace Nollywood actor, Mr. Richard Mofe-Damijo, first as Special Assistant and then as Commissioner for Youth Development in the state.<\/p>\n

He added that the fact that everything about Warri was a comedy of negativity, brought about the need to reverse the trend through promoting young talents and empowering them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
