Miranda Kerr remembers her first visit to a Victoria\u2019s Secret store; she was 16, a foreign exchange student living in Virginia. \u201cI was like, \u2018Wow! This is like a wonderland. We don\u2019t have anything like that in Australia,\u2019\u201d she recalls to New York<\/em> magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Several years later, she was blown away by the company again \u2014 but this time, it was because she was the first Australian model to get a contract with the brand. \u201cI just remember the first time I met Adriana [Lima]<\/a>, she was so beautiful,\u201d Kerr says. \u201cI was like, \u2018Why would they want me? I mean, look at her. She\u2019s incredible.\u2019 And then I met Heidi<\/a> and Gisele<\/a> and I was like, \u2018What am I doing here?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Now one of the company\u2019s most recognizable faces \u2014 and the model who has the honor of wearing the $2.5-million \u201cFantasy Treasure Bra\u201d<\/a> in tonight\u2019s Victoria\u2019s Secret Fashion Show<\/a> \u2014 Kerr is more confident about her place in the fashion world.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always see myself as, like, equal to everyone,\u201d she says of her fellow models. \u201cI can\u2019t feel bad about being who I am, just like the girl next to me can\u2019t feel bad about being who she is. A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, Kerr hopes her attitude toward beauty resonates with her fans. \u201cAll flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that\u2019s like women too,\u201d she shares. \u201cI want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness.\u201d<\/p>\n
