Schalke forward Jefferson Farfan has revealed that his heart lies with the Ruhr-based outfit and shared his disappointment with the club’s decision to put a halt on contract negotiations.<\/p>\n
The Royal Blues have reportedly withdrawn their \u20ac6m contract offer to the 27-year-old and are prepared to let him leave in January.<\/p>\n
Farfan has now conceded that he has little choice but to listen to offers in the upcoming transfer window.<\/p>\n
“I’m surprised that Schalke have rescinded the offer they gave me two weeks ago. Mainly because of the love I feel for Schalke and my desire to extend my stay,” Farfan said, according to Bild.<\/p>\n
“Too bad, because we were very close to reaching an agreement on the extension. I have every intention to do that. From January 2012, I’ll be ready to listen to offers from interested clubs. I have no other choice.<\/p>\n
“But it should be clear to all that I would die on the pitch for Schalke and I will fight with all my strength for the fans, to do the best I possibly can in the Bundesliga.”<\/p>\n
