{"id":23448,"date":"2011-12-29T10:52:51","date_gmt":"2011-12-29T10:52:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/12\/allie-call-up-a-surprise\/"},"modified":"2011-12-29T10:52:51","modified_gmt":"2011-12-29T10:52:51","slug":"allie-call-up-a-surprise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/12\/29\/allie-call-up-a-surprise\/","title":{"rendered":"Allie \u2013 Call-up a surprise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mtnfootball.com\/content\/nazeer_allie_ajax-580.jpg\" width=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>Nazeer Allie<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Ajax Cape Town defender Nazeer Allie has admitted that his Bafana Bafana call up and trip to train with Ajax Amsterdam came as a surprise to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Allie and three other teammates were surprised by coach Maarten Stekelenburg when he announced four names that will be making a trip to Amsterdam for a training stint with Ajax Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>They are; Allie, George Maluleka, Khama Billiat and Thato Mokeke.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time as this announcement, Allie and Maluleka were also selected by Pitso Mosimane as part of his Bafana Bafan squad to play in the three friendly games in January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was obviously shocking and a huge surprise for me to receive such news. Firstly I didn\u2019t know of the trip to Amsterdam until the last game against Black Leopards,\u201d Allie told MTNFootball.com.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the Bafana call up was a further shock concerning the number of great defenders we already have in the national team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allie went on to say that all he needs to do now is work hard in the camp in order to get a chance to play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I need to do now is continue with the same work rate I\u2019ve put in for Ajax and fight for a place in the line-up. I\u2019m happy for George (Maluleka) and I\u2019m happy for the other two guys that are going with to Amsterdam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On his new year\u2019s resolution, the Urban Warriors vice-captain said the first priority will be to do well with Bafana and then the Amsterdam trip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell that\u2019s a tough one, but firstly I would like to do well in camp with the national team,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that I\u2019ve earned a trial, I\u2019d want to make the most of it by making it big there.
