{"id":23274,"date":"2011-12-29T09:27:11","date_gmt":"2011-12-29T09:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/12\/pls-and-wanderers-in-dispute\/"},"modified":"2011-12-29T09:27:11","modified_gmt":"2011-12-29T09:27:11","slug":"pls-and-wanderers-in-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/12\/29\/pls-and-wanderers-in-dispute\/","title":{"rendered":"PLS and Wanderers in dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"7\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mtnfootball.com\/content\/Qedulwazi%20Ndimanzde_Manzini%20Wanderers_580.jpg\" width=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>Qedulwazi Ndimanzde of Manzini Wanderers<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) and the country\u2019s most supported side Manzini Wanderers are in dispute over the gate collections share of Sunday\u2019s FixedFone Cup final.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The \u2018Weslians\u2019, as Wanderers are affectionately called, have written a letter to the PLS and the cup sponsor, Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC), demanding an equal share of the gate collections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wanderers will face Mbabane Swallows in the 3rd place play-off final at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday at 2:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>However, the PLS insist that as per the agreement with the teams a week ago, the finalists, Malanti Chiefs and Green Mamba, will receive 70% of the gate takings with the rest (30%) being shared by Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers are basing their argument on that tournament\u2019s rules, Article 15.6 which reads: \u201cClubs shall have an equal share of the balance of the gate-takings after all deductions i.e PLS percentage; stadium levy and any other payments to be made and the PLS representative shall be informed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Manzini Wanderers PRO Vulindlela Kunene said they are disappointed with the PLS because the rules of the tournament state that the four teams would get equal share.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>But PLS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zwelonkhe \u2018Sport\u2019 Dlamini said that as an organization they stand by their decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an order from the PLS Governors, it\u2019s not a request,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>PLS Chairman, Victor Gamedze said every Cup final has its own rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore the finals, the clubs shared the gate collections equally but now it must be the finalists getting a lion\u2019s share because it\u2019s their day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt must not seem like we designed this knowing Wanderers or Swallows won\u2019t reach the finals \u2013 it could have been any team in the finals,\u201d Gamedze explained.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">By Lwazi Dlamini<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Qedulwazi Ndimanzde of Manzini Wanderers The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) and the country\u2019s most supported side Manzini Wanderers are in dispute over the gate collections share of Sunday\u2019s FixedFone Cup final. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-23274","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
