More states are to benefit from World Bank\u2019s $150million Commercial Agriculture Development Project, CADP, across the six geo-political zones of the country.<\/p>\n

Five states, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Cross Rivers and Enugu had earlier benefitted, and the current beneficiaries bring to 10 the number of states\u00a0 benefitting from the scheme.<\/p>\n

CADP was earlier implemented in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Cross River and Enugu states and will support three value chains per state as follows: Cross River \u2013 oil palm, cocoa and rice; Enugu \u2013 fruit trees, poultry and maize; Kaduna \u2013 fruit trees, dairy and maize; Kano, rice, dairy and maize and Lagos \u2013 poultry, aquaculture and rice.<\/p>\n

The task team leader of the project, Dr. Lucas Akapa, informed the state governments that CADP would ensure alignment with Federal and state agricultural policies, especially the new Agricultural Transformation Agenda,\u00a0\u00a0 ATA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
