She has shed an astonishing 80lbs with her successful Weight Watchers program.

And her new television commercial for the the weight loss company shows just how far she has come.

The 30-year-old steps onstage to sing with the older version of herself, when she was significantly heavier.

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO…

"Double

Double take! Jennifer Hudson is unrecognisable she does a duet with her former self in her new Weight Watchers commercial

Looking incredibly svelte wearing a chocolate figure hugging bandage dress, she walks on stage singing The Four Tops hit ‘I Believe in You and Me’ to her image of old.

On the left, the former Jennifer is seen from her American Idol days, when she went on to become one the finalists in 2004, and then onto international stardom.

Age 23 at the time, the Academy Award-winner is barely recognisable in a pink strapless dress and hair in a head of ringlets.

"Remember

Remember her? On the left, the former Jennifer is seen from her American Idol days, when she went on to become one the finalists in 2004

Her look is completely different from the coiffed Jennifer on the right, who has her hair in a groomed Hollywood style wave and her make-up is more modern with a smoky eye and nude lip.

As the advertisement rolls on the two Jennifers sing together in harmony as if they were dueting on stage.

The words of the powerful ballad are inspirational, perfect for the subject at hand.

Was that really me? Jennifer looks over at her former self several times during the clip

The new commercial aired during the X Factor finale last week.

Since signing on with the brand, Jennifer has dropped from a size 22 to a size 0.

She has managed to shed 80 pounds thus far and appears to be losing more and more weight each day.

She appeared at VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul in New York City earlier this month looking thin yet still curvy in a Francesco Scognamiglio knit mini dress as well as the jewel-encrusted floor-length gown from The Blonds.

"Idol

Idol days: A ghost image of Jennifer from her Idol days flashes up on the screen as the duo sing the power ballad

Meanwhile Jennifer has revealed why she turned down the title role in the movie Precious.

In her new book ‘I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down’ she said that she turned down a chance to read for the plum role for weight reasons.

In an excerpt from the book published by Uptown Magazine, she said: I had [gained weight] with Effie [in Dreamgirls]’ and as much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight.’

Instead, director Lee Daniels chose

then-unknown actress Gabourey Sidibe for the part of Precious, an

overweight and abused teen.

"What

What a difference: Jennifer shows off her astonishing 80lbs weight loss

The film went on to accrue a plethora of awards and nominations, including six Oscar nods, including a Best Actress nomination for Sidibe

It would have been Hudson’s second Academy Awards honour after winning Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls in 2006.

Jennifer’s refusal to read for the role also caused some additional stress for the film’s director.

Daniels told The Guardian back in 2009: ‘We were weeks away from the shoot but I still hadn’t found Precious.’

"Multiple

Multiple commercial: Jennifer appears in another Weight Watchers commercial where she shows off her slim figure in a pair of beige trousers and a gold sequined top

"Glowing:

Glowing: The Dreamgirls star is the picture of perfect health in the commercial

‘Do you know how difficult it is to find a 300lb. black girl to be great in a movie? They don’t exist in Hollywood.’

He can hardly blame Jennifer for giving up the opportunity, given how focused she has become on staying slim in recent years.

She became the spokesperson for Weight Watchers in April of 2010, nearly nine months after giving birth to son David Daniel Otunga Jr.

Slim star: Jennifer appeared at VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul

in New York City earlier this month looking thin yet still curvy in a

Francesco Scognamiglio knit mini dress, left, as well as the jewel-encrusted

floor-length gown from The Blonds, right
