The Chairman, Delta State Sports Council, Amaju Pinnick, has advised the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) to organise the 2012 league calendar to suit the clubs.<\/p>\n

Pinnick gave the advice on Tuesday in Asaba. He accused the NFA of lacking focus, saying that poor administration of football by the body was militating against the growth of the game in the country.<\/p>\n

Pinnick urged the NFA to consider factors like circumstances of the clubs and other leagues across the world, especially in England and Spain, in formulating policies and drawing up its calendar.<\/p>\n

He also identified poor remuneration for players in the nation\u2019s league and frequent and premature \u201cexportation\u201d of players as other factors affecting the development of football in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Delta Sports Council boss told the News Agency of Nigeria that \u201cThe leadership of the NFA must show that it understands the game and abreast with global trends, otherwise the people there now should give way for those who know what should be done and are prepared to do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a shame that Nigeria, which was a leader in African sports and enjoyed world reckoning, has taken back stage due to ineptitude of our administrators.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is bad for football and even worse for other sports\u201d, he lamented.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
