\"\"<\/a>A 25-year farm labourer at Nagole, in the Atwima-Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, has been remanded into prison custody by the Nyinahin Magistrate\u2019s Court for theft of cocoa beans.<\/p>\n

Braima Amidu pleaded guilty to the crime and would re-appear on January 16, 2012.<\/p>\n

Police Inspector Daniel Otabil told the court presided over by Mr Sam Nibi that the complainant is a purchasing clerk of one of the licensed cocoa buying companies (LBCs) at Nagole.<\/p>\n

At about 2200 hours on December 7, the accused and two other accomplices, on the run, broke into a shed, where the complainant was keeping the bags of cocoa bought from farmers to steal the stock.<\/p>\n

The prosecution said someone in the neighbourhood spotted Amidu and his gang and raised the alarm.<\/p>\n

This attracted residents who managed to arrest the accused while his two accomplices escaped.<\/p>\n
