Following excellent starts, both of these newly-promoted sides have experienced sudden lurches back towards the relegation zone in recent weeks.

""Swansea’s reputation for passing football is supported by the stats, with only Manchester City and Chelsea boasting better pass-completion rates. The Swans also sit fourth in the highest-possesion rates behind the aforementioned two and Arsenal.

Averaging nearly 60 per cent of possession in home games, they will look to create openings for top scorer Danny Graham to improve on his five goals already this season and the ex-Watford man is 2.5 (6/4) to net at any time.

The main threat from the visiting Hoops will be from crosses and long balls. Only notoriously-physical Stoke have won more aerial duels per game than Neil Warnock’s men, whilst Swansea rank bottom of the league on this stat. For this alone, it may be worth looking at someone like Heidar Helguson – the third best player in the league on aerial battles won – to score, and he is 9.00 (8/1) to score first, 3.50 (5/2) any time.

""As far as the result goes, Swansea have lost just one game at home this season and that was a narrow 1-0 reverse against the champions. QPR will not be confident, then, given that they have lost five of eight games on the road this campaign. Whilst one may edge towards Swansea to win at 2.1 (11/10), it is far from an easy call.

Given all the evidence, though, the bet of the day has to be Helguson to score anytime at 3.5 (5/2) – a huge value bet considering Swansea’s aerial woes and the veteran striker’s prowess in that regard. For a long shot, consider adding in QPR to win the game as well as Helguson to score on Bet365’s wincast market for an outstanding 36.0 (35/1) return.
