Hospital da Luz medical director Jose Roquette has announced that Portugal legend Eusebio will be able to leave intensive care on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The 69-year-old was admitted on Wednesday with an acute respiratory infection and it was later confirmed that he was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, which affects both lungs.<\/p>\n
“Eusebio will soon be able to leave the intensive care move to intermediate care,” Roquette told reporters. “He spent the night very well and is very calm.<\/p>\n
“His condition has improved, he has been eating well and he rested well. We are thinking about letting him leave the intensive care tomorrow [Saturday], depending on his progress, so that he can spend Christmas in a hospital room.”<\/p>\n
