Benjamin Akyena Brentuo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A member of the Government\u2019s Communication Team, Benjamin Akyena Brantuo, has been asked with immediate effect to stop holding himself \u201cas a member of the team until further notice\u201d.
In a text message intercepted by Citifmonline.com<\/em> and copied to a Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia, it said in part, \u201cHi Benji, It has come to my attention that contrary to the position of CommStrat and the President that your conduct in the Woyome case learns [sic] itself to conflict, unnecessary attacks on the president and the Govt and the fact that such unstrategic and reckless conduct should seize [sic],you have proceeded to is [sic][sms text truncated]\u2026\u201d
\u201cYour continuous refusal to listen to me and abide by a collective decision only shows you do not wish to belong to the Government Communication Team (GCT) where discipline and suppressing personal egos is most paramount [sic]. You are therefore by this information to seize [sic] holding yourself as a member of the GCT until further notice. I wish you well in your endeavours,\u201d the message said.<\/p>\n

Since the Wednesday text message dismissal from the GCT, Alex Segbefia, who Akyena Brantuo works directly under at the Castle, Osu, has taken over the defence of Woyome.<\/p>\n

Segbefia was on Joy FM<\/em><\/strong> and a number of other networks strongly defending the scandalous payment to Woyome.<\/p>\n

Government sources told DAILY GUIDE<\/em><\/strong> that at a GCT meeting held on Tuesday, when Akyena was confronted by Dr Omane Boamah, deputy Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, the sacked spokesman said he was forced to take up the difficult job of defending Woyome because nobody was minding him since he had an accident with his car.<\/p>\n

He said there had been no replacement, compelling him to be jumping from trotro to trotro, making him a mockery among his peers.<\/p>\n

The suspension of Mr. Brantuo from the GCT stems from his recent comments on the much-talked about Woyome GH\u00a258 million pay-out in which Mr. Brantuo held himself as the communications liaison for the embattled NDC financier.
Although the source of the message is not immediately clear, our sources at the presidency have indicated that other members of the communication team are privy to the news.
Akyena Brantuo\u2019s recent comment on the Woyome case was described in the text message as \u201cunstrategic\u201d and \u201creckless\u201d and has unleashed \u201cunnecessary attacks on the President and the government.\u201d<\/p>\n
