A week after model\/blogger Lauren Scruggs was severely injured<\/a> in a propeller accident, she can now smile, raise her eyebrows, drink juice and eat a small amount.<\/p>\n

“Such a miracle!” says an update Saturday on her CaringBridge.org<\/a> site.<\/p>\n

“She walked up and down the hall 3 times today with the help of a physical therapist,” says the site. “The doctors are all very pleased with her progress.”<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old lost her left hand and underwent several emergency surgeries on her face and shoulder after she accidentally walked into a spinning airplane propeller in Texas.<\/p>\n

Despite the early encouraging signs of progress, her family spokesperson tells PEOPLE she still faces a long recovery period. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
