The Red Devils bowed out of the Champions League after losing their final group game 2-1 to Basel, and must now compete in the Europa League for the first time since the tournament was renamed.<\/p>\n

Following their defeat to the Swiss side, Sir Alex Ferguson’s charges bounced back in the Premier League by beating Wolves at Old Trafford as Wayne Rooney and Nani bagged a brace each.<\/p>\n

“We owed one to all the fans who travelled out there [to Basel],” said Jones.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully we showed them what we are all about with a great performance.”<\/p>\n

United are now two points behind Manchester City, but have played a game more than the league leaders.<\/p>\n
