The council, the highest decision making body, adopted the proposal to honour President Kibaki on Thursday at its 123 meeting in recognition of his contribution to public service at national, regional and international levels in areas of academic excellence, political, social and economic reforms.<\/p>\n
“The Honorary Awards Committee and the University Senate observed that H.E President Mwai Kibaki has distinguished himself as a visionary statesman who has also spearheaded economic development, gender and educational reforms and political cohesion,” the university public relations officer, Ms Ritah Namisango, said on Friday.<\/p>\n
