Jefferson Farfan could be on his way out of Schalke in the January transfer window as Inter have shown an interest in luring the attacker away from his current club, Sportmediaset reports.
The Nerazzurri are desperate to add some fresh blood to their squad ahead of the second half of the season following their disappointing performances in so far in the 2011-12 campaign, and they consider Farfan to be the ideal addition.
The 27-year-old has a contract with Schalke until the summer of 2012 and has so far refused to sign a new deal, leading to reports that the German club could be tempted to cash in on the Peruvian this winter if a good offer comes in.
Farfan joined Schalke from PSV in the summer of 2008 and has since made over 100 official appearances for the Gelsenkirchen side.
The attacker is currently sidelined with a knee injury and hasn’t featured for Schalke since November 6.
