Goal : Fluminense playmaker Deco has restated his commitment to the Rio de Janeiro giants, as speculation grows surrounding a move back to Brasileirao champions Corinthians.
The Sao Paulo team are looking to bolster their squad following victory in the 2011 Serie A, and have reportedly set their sights on the former Barcelona, Chelsea and Portugal star as an experienced head in the squad.
But according to the player, who began his career in Corinthians before moving to Portugal, he is 100 per cent focused on staying with Fluminense and building to bigger things in 2012, after a year seriously disrupted by injury.
“Corinthians is a club for which I have a lot of affection, it was where I started my career and I have great friends there. But I have always said that I am happy here, I am learning to love the club and the people like me here,” the 34-year-old told ESPN Brasil.
“It would be difficult then, to switch this for anything else. I don’t make many plans, but I am happy here and that is why my decision is to stay.”
