Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has taken a swipe at the Football Association by accusing them of double standards.

The tactician believes that the entire disciplinary system is flawed following the successful appeal of Wayne Rooney’s three-match ban for the Euro 2012.

Dalglish is fuming after the FA did everything they could to reduce the Manchester United player’s ban, while they failed to handle Luis Suarez’s disciplinary action correctly.

“The fact it has taken nine weeks to get a decision on one of the other charges is a bit of a joke,” noted an upset Dalglish.

“I don’t think it sets a very good standard that they appeal against Wayne’s three-match ban.

“I think it calls into question their own disciplinary system. If it’s a straight red, it’s three games.

“If they can justify diluting Wayne’s then everyone else who appeals for a similar sending off in a Premier League game will expect to have their ban reduced. I don’t think it sets a very good precedent.”

Suarez has two FA charges hanging over him but is still awaiting a date for a disciplinary hearing into his alleged racist remarks to Manchester United defender Patrice Evra back in October.

In addition, the player was further charged on Wednesday following improper conduct towards the Fulham fans during the match at Craven Cottage on Monday.

Dalglish has since called for a summit with the FA and fellow managers to iron out refereeing blunders.
