Huambo — The Supreme Court Chief Justice, Cristiano André, on Wednesday in Huambo City, said it is urgent to invest more in infrastructures for courthouses and the Prosecuting Counsel, in face of the precarious conditions in which the magistrates work.
The Chief Justice expressed this opinion in the end of an assessment visit to the municipalities of Caála and Bailundo, where he learnt about the constraints faced by the local justice organs.
As regards Huambo, Cristiano André admitted that the bad condition of infrastructures has been causing difficulties to the work of the courts.
He also deplored the condition in which inmates in this province live in various jails, reason why there is a need to invest more in justice infrastructures.
The Chief Justice is since last Tuesday in Huambo Province to assess the functioning of the justice sector.
