In a last ditch effort to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup, Royal Leopard has roped in former Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) CEO Zakhele Dlamini to head a newly formed marketing committee.

The committee’s main task will be to solicit funds to enable the police side to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Leopard qualified to participate in the event after beating Mhlambanyatsi Rovers 4-3 in a thrill-a-minute SwaziBank Cup final watched by His Majesty King Mswati III in April at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The Marketing Committee was announced yesterday by Leopard Board chairman John Lukhele, who said its main task was to handle the fund-raising campaign for the team in relation to the Orange CAF Confederation Cup next year.

“We are not financed by government as many people might have been thinking. We are going to compete in this tournament, not just to participate hence we saw the need to appoint capable people who can help us raise the funds needed for such games,” he said.
