    Ofere confronted Keshi

An angry bust-up with coach Stephen Keshi may well cost Lecce of Italy striker Edward Ofere another Super Eagles call-up.

MTNFootball.com has reliably gathered that Ofere confronted coach Keshi in Kaduna after he was not dressed in last month’s friendly matches against Zambia and Botswana.

The former Enugu Rangers striker had hoped to get his first cap, but he was hugely disappointed not to do so last month and he let go his anger at the Eagles coach.

“He was very disappointed not to make his debut particularly as he has been posting some good performances in the highly-rated Serie A with his club Lecce,” a top source informed.

“He felt he deserved to get a chance in the matches against Zambia and Botswana ahead of players from ‘lesser leagues’ and when he did not, he gave Keshi a piece of his mind.”

This bust-up, team officials now say may shut out an immediate call-up for the big centre-forward.

The 25-year-old Ofere scored 23 goals in 85 appearances for top Swedish club Malmo before he moved to Lecce last year.
