South Africa and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding on legal matters, the justice ministry said on Wednesday.
Justice Minister Jeff Radebe and his Russian counterpart Alexander Konovalov endorsed the co-operation pact in Pretoria on Tuesday, ministry spokesman Tlali Tlali said in a statement.
“This co-operation will create a platform on which both countries will be able to exchange ideas and share information and experiences in an effort to work towards finding lasting solutions to common challenges.”
The two countries would also sign treaties soon, he said.
The memorandum was negotiated in Moscow on August 02 and 03, 2011. – Sapa
