Former technical director of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, Kashimawo Laloko has challenged the Aminu Maigari-Board of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to tell Nigerians what it does with the annual grant of $250,000 (about N39 million) it gets from FIFA for development of the game.
The poser came about following the poor report card recorded so far by the NFF under Maigari, the most recent being the crash of the national U-23 team at the on-going African U-23 Championship to decide the continent’s representatives at next year’s Olympic Games in London.

According to supersport.com which quoted from an interview the football administrator granted Brila FM in Lagos, Laloko, the Pepsi Football Academy proprietor, proffered that the NFF needs to embrace a road map to revive football in the country through development from the grassroots.
He however feels that the NFF does not have a competent technical committee that could steer the federation towards a sound football development, stressing that the committee as presently constituted is based on “benevolence” even as he singled out Chief Adegboye Onigbinde as the only exception.
“The technical committee is supposed to be made up of men with experience in technical matters,” he began in the interview. “Yes Christian Chukwu and Austin Okocha played football and have knowledge of the game. But can they draw up and implement technical programmes?
Most of them on that committee are there based on benevolence. Even the man who heads the committee (Barrister Chris Green) I know very. All I know he has done in football is managing Sharks in the past. “(Adegboye) Onigbinde should have been made the chairman of that committee because he is qualified. But they insist on picking a board member as chairman.”
Laloko, however pointed out that the NFF needs a technical director and named coaches capable of occupying the office.
He believes Onigbinde should be given “a two-year contract” to work as the technical director adding that Amodu Shuaibu, Bitrus Bewarang and Ben Duamlong are also qualified for same role.
