Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is trying to agree transfer fees with Manchester City and Liverpool for Shaun Wright-Phillips and David Ngog respectively, according to the Daily Mirror.
Coyle has confirmed his admiration for Wright-Phillips but would not be drawn on the specifics of the negotiation.
He is reportedly trying to negotiate a bargain price for the winger, whose club say they will only allow a permanent transfer.
“I have too much respect for Roberto Mancini and his staff to talk about their player,” said Coyle.
“But Shaun is a hugely talented player.”
Wright-Phillips is reportedly keen on the move but the Scottish manager knows he cannot pay too high a transfer fee if he is to afford the England international’s wage demands.
Liverpool striker Ngog is also a target, but negotiations have supposedly hit a stumbling block with the two clubs differing in their valuations.
The Reds reportedly want £4.5m for the Frenchman but Bolton see the player as a £3.5m purchase at most.
And now it is suggested that Coyle may look to Birmingham’s Cameron Jerome instead.
