KENYA handball teams will have to attack from outside the box if they are to improve their medal prospects in the September All Africa Games in Mozambique.

Danish coach Tony Kjaer said the opposition in Maputo will be tough and as a result, Kenya must work hard on their outside shots since they will be playing against seasoned sides.

“The women team do not seem to have enough players with power that can allow them to shoot from outside, and especially the wings,” he noted, adding only Ulinzi’s Alexina Ambani is adept at that.

He said Kenyans will have to be flexible just in case the tactic to shoot from the box doesn’t work. “With the compact defences expected, shooting from the box will be tricky and Kenyans must learn to open the game with hard shots. I have seen some weakness in defence and I am working on that. I want them to play together in defence because this way, they will keep out their opponents,” said the coach, who plies his trade in Norway.
