Ndalatando — At least 726 farmers, organized in associations and agriculture cooperatives, in Kwanza Norte province, benefited from financial support estimated at over 54 million Angolan Kwanzas.
The financial support, under the Agriculture Campaign Credit Programme, made available by the Angolan Saving and Credit Bank (BPC) and Commerce and Industry Bank (BCI) was given for the first time to farmers of the three of ten districts of the province (Kiculungo, Bolongongo and Golungo-Alto).
Speaking to the press, the chairperson of the Angolan National Farmers Union (Unaca), João Miguel, made a positive assessment of the implementation programme on the Agriculture Campaign Credit toward combat against hunger and poverty.
The source said that to implement the mentioned programme, were registered all over the province 2,214 farmers, organized in 95 associations and 21 agriculture cooperatives.
