Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is determined to improve his goalscoring.
Since Chelsea brought one of Nigeria’s most talented footballers to the Premier League in 2006, his only goals have been in the FA Cup – back in the Jose Mourinho era. After four-and-a-half years without a goal, he is determined to start scoring.
“The main thing from me this season will be to score goals. I have to score more from midfield,” Mikel told the London Evening Standard. “I used to score a lot but I don’t know what has happened to them recently.
“Frank always scores goals, he seems to have scored them all from midfield. I think some of the guys need to score as well to take some pressure off him. Frank is good but Chelsea have never been about one player.”
