Argentina and Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles believes £35 million Manchester City signing Sergio Aguero is “good value for money”.
Aguero completed a big money move from Atletico Madrid to City on Thursday after agreeing terms and under-going a medical in Manchester on Wednesday.
Even after splashing out £35m on the young forward, Ardiles added that he thinks City have got a bargain on their hands.
“If you look at some of the other money that has been paid in England, for example, I think that he is incredibly good value for money. He is only 23,” he added.
The former Spurs star also thinks the 23-year-old striker has all the attributes to play successfully in the Premier League.
“He is quick, he is sharp and clever,” Ardiles told BBC Sport. “He can play as a lone striker, he can play with another guy and can come back and create things.
“He is very sharp. You give him one yard and this is it, he is gone.
“His vision is to score goals. If he has a little chance the ball will be in the net.
“I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be wonderful in the Premier League.
Ardiles feels the former Atletico man can strike up a great partnership with Carlos Tevez if the 27-year-old can be convinced to remain at the Etihad Stadium.
The Argentinean believes his fellow countrymen have differing styles which could give opposing defences a lot trouble.
“That would be a really good combination,” he added.
“Tevez is really not a proper centre-forward. Tevez definitely wants to play back to midfield and sometimes wants to create as well.”
