For the first time in the 41 year history of the AccessKenya Africa Concours d’Elegance, a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle has been entered for judging under the regulations approved by the Kenya Motor Sport Federation.

The Concours will be run by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club on September 25th at the Nairobi Racecourse. Concours has 12 classes for cars and eight for motorcycles and rewards the owners of well kept machines.

The Royal Enfield Bullet which will be shown at the Nairobi Racecourse has been entered by Nimrod Africa Limited. The bike is being prepared by Rick Agagliate and was made in India in 1990. Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand in the world and the Bullet is the longest continuously produced motorcycle model. “Enfield” motorcycles were made until 1911 and three years later, the brand name was changed to “Royal Enfield”.

When the Company ceased operations in England, the plant was sold to Enfield India where production continues in Chennai. The machine entered in the Concours is a sample of police motorcycle, which was imported to Kenya in a bid to secure the contract for the supply of motorcycles to the Kenya Police.
