Darren Ambrose is hopeful the past couple of season’s scraps against the drop from the Championship will be replaced this term with a promotion push.
Ambrose feels the new-look Eagles squad should be looking towards the top half and maybe even a play-off spot.
“We started last year with nine first-team players, it’s different now, we’ve got a stable squad and we’ve added to it,” he said.
“I’m confident we can have a good year. If we start the season well we can take it from there.
“It’s been a tough league for three or four seasons now, but I think next year is probably going to be the toughest it’s ever been.
“But hopefully we can hold our own in it. I’m sure we can, I’m confident we can push for the top half of the table and once we are up there you never know what can happen.”
