A new technology, which is aimed at improving waste management in the country, has been invented and outdoored by Apostle Dominic Tetteh in Tema.
The management of waste presents serious challenges to authorities in the country.
The new machine, according to Apostle Tetteh, can be used anywhere due to its portability and is expected to rid communities and the country at large of filth.
Apostle Tetteh said the new machine, which cost GH¢2,500 to manufacture, has been galvanized to last for more than 10 years.
He said the machine is two to three millimeters wide, adding the actual machine would be thicker and durable.
According to the inventor, he used between three to four months to complete the machine, dubbed City Saver simply with the support of a generator and gas.
He said he began work on the machine in 2006 but abandoned it due to lack of funds, noting that he had the idea after a conversation with a friend and God revealed to him how the machine should look like after prayers.
He added that the machine can burn any kind of waste such as paper, plastic, rubber and even stones.
According to Apostle Tetteh, the machine is powered by a blower.
He mentioned that his organization has plans to construct land fill site which would consist of two plants namely plastic and organic.
He noted that there are three types of waste, stressing that plastic materials decompose after 50 years.
Apostle Tetteh called on Ghanaians to pay attention to waste management instead of focusing on politics and appealed to government and investors to come together to address the problem.
“We must not wait for the whiteman to bring the technology to us,” he indicated.
