USAIN BOLT plans his next world-record romp for London 2012.

The sprint champ insists he is unfazed at failing to get near to his 9.58sec 100m world-record form this season.

He said: “London is the key. That is what matters. I don’t have a 9.58 in me this season. I am just working to get down to 9.7 or maybe 9.60 but not 9.58.

“The aim is to get back to that world-record time for next season, for London.”

Bolt has a season’s best of 9.91, well behind fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell’s 9.78 mark.

He was speaking in Monaco after his final 100m before the World Championships starting next month in South Korea.

Bolt missed much of last season with a back injury and has raced only three times over 100m this summer – but won them all.

He described his first outing over the distance in Rome two months ago as the worst race of his career. He admitted: “I still need to work on my reaction time, my first 30 metres. I was upset I didn’t get a better start in my last 100m race.

“I have to keep working on a few things. It’s getting better but it’s a long way from 9.58.

“I’m facing facts. I want to try and run as fast as possible but it’s not going to happen this year.”

Olympic supremo Jacques Rogge admits preparations for London 2012 are matching those of Beijing of 2008 – when the Chinese had a budget four times the size.
