Japanese starlet Ryo Miyaichi appears set to stay at Arsenal for the start of the upcoming season after he admitted he hadn’t even discussed the possibility of another loan move with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive six-month loan spell at Feyenoord in the second-half of last season before returning to Arsenal where he has impressed in pre-season.
Miyaichi, who made his Arsenal debut during the club’s Asian tour last week, played 15 minutes in the Gunners’ 2-1 friendly win over FC Koln on Saturday.
The left winger spoke to reporters after the game and revealed he hadn’t discussed his immediate future with Wenger.
When asked if he could be set for another loan move, he responded: “I cannot see anything yet.”
He added: “If I could have the opportunity, I want to play with Arsenal.”
Meanwhile, fellow Gunners winger Theo Walcott heaped praise on the Japanese winger, who he said had plenty of tricks.
“I don’t like comparing myself to other players, every player is different,” Walcott told Arsenal.com.
“He wants to be his own player, he is a confident lad and will hopefully have a good career at Arsenal.
“He has got a few stepovers more than me, I don’t do any! That is maybe something I could bring into my game.”
