Fulham are safely through to the next round of the Europa League following their 4-0 victory against Northern Irish part-timers Crusaders.

After escaping a potential banana skin at Seaview last week, winning that game 3-1, the Cottagers took matters into their own hands and extended their already useful lead pretty quickly.

The hosts started the brighter and Andrew Johnson tested goalkeeper Sean O’Neill after seven minutes.

They started to dominate proceedings after that and soon got their reward courtesy of an assist from their new signing.

John Arne Riise took just under 20 minutes to make his mark on the game as his ball into the box set-up Andrew Johnson to fire home from deep inside the box.

The Crues offered little in attack as the Premier League outfit began a second-half onslaught on the part-timers, scoring three further goals in 14 minutes to add to their already big aggregate score.

They were two goals to the good four minutes before the hour mark, defender Philippe Senderos setting up Damien Duff to score from inside the penalty box for his second of the campaign.

England international Bobby Zamora continued his rehabilitation after his injury last season by adding a third – again from inside the box – after being set-up by his strike partner Johnson.

Duff this time turned provider and set up fellow midfielder Steve Sidwell to rifle in a fourth from close range.

There was a nice touch by manager Martin Jol towards the end of the game, as debutant Riise was replaced by his younger brother Bjorn Helge.
