A familiar trend continued as UCU Canons were made to work hard for victory in the national basketball league on Saturday.
Canons edged the battling Charging Rhinos 67-64 in a closely contest game in a season marked upsets and small margin wins.
The Rhinos, who have mastered the art of tormenting the big teams, put up a spirited fight in a bid to win.
But the side that upset Kyambogo Warriors recently, eventually succumbed to pressure as UCU cruised to victory.
Canons’ Desmond Owili was the leading player with a haul of 14 points.
Abel Omongin and Joseph Odyek led Rhinos’s charge with 13 points each.
