Cape Coast — The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo Addo received a rousing welcome from supporters of the party in Cape Coast on Saturday, when he attended the funeral of the late Kojo Mensah, a leading member of the party in the Metropolis.

Although the NPP presidential candidate missed the burial church service, which was held at the Anglican Church, the supporters of the NPP waited anxiously at Victoria Park, where they mobbed their presidential candidate. It took his bodyguards a hectic time to clear the way for him to exchange greetings with the mourners.

Akuffo Addo has been in Central Region since Monday, prosecuting his “listening tour” agenda. He finally ended the tour in Cape Coast, by the attending final funeral rites of Kojo Mensah, popularly known as Kojo Alata.

Nana Addo was accompanied by his campaign team, led by Mr. Boakye Agyarko, as well as other NPP stalwarts such as Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi and Gladys Ashma.

The former President, John Agyekum Kufuor, who also attended the burial service, described Kojo Mensah as a good person and that he had a personal relation with him for 47years.
