Public Health Minister Beth Mugo is opposed to importation of GMO maize into the country to end the current food crisis.
Mugo says importing the maize with uncertain health implications is not the way out.
She says toxicity and nutritional changes in GMO food must be keenly monitored and the country lacks capacity to test them.
She is firm that those who intend to import the maize must seek approval from her Ministry.
