Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong is looking to impress boss Arsene Wenger when the Gunners kick-off their pre-season tour of Malaysia on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old had an impressive pre-season last summer, only for his campaign to be curtailed through injury.
Now the Ghana-born defensive midfielder, who has represented England at youth level, is hoping to use the club’s tour of the Far East to improve his first team credentials ahead of the new season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “It’s a big opportunity for me to show what I can do. I’m here to try and get in the team and show the manager what I can do so hopefully it all goes well.
“The more time I spend on the pitch, the more confident I feel. I’m still not 100 per cent fit but that will come, I just have to be patient.”
