    Dar es Salaam — Striker Lawrence Owino of Kenyan giants Ulinzi FC tops the scoring chart of the Kagame Castle Cup, which rolls into its quarter-finals early next week.

    Owino, whose hat-trick steered Ulinzi to a 9-0 win over Ports of Djibouti in a Group C match at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro on Thursday, has three goals to his credit so far.

    It was the first hat-trick in this year’s championship which kicked off on June 25 featuring 13 teams from the Cecafa-member countries.The other strikers in the race for the golden boot are: Mohamed Hussein, Steven Waruru (Ulinzi), Victor Nyirenda (APR), Sabri Ramadhan Mzee and Seleman Haji (Zanzibar Ocean View), Ayub Kisalika (Bunamwaya), who have two goals apiece.

    Also in the list is El Mereikh’s Balla Gabir, whose two own goals gifted Mainland champions Young Africans a 2-2 draw with the Sudan outfit last Sunday.Players with one goal are: Hamis Kiiza, Davies Mwape (Young Africans), Evance Omwokola, Onyango (Ulinzi), Logbo Didier, Kwizera Ernest (APR) and Amir Maftah (Simba).

    The list also has: Claver Muhire, Victoire Manirakiza ( Etincelles), Said Rashid (Ocean View), Ronald Muganga, Kizito Luwanga, Kimuli Edward (Bunamwaya), Saladin Said (St George), Jonas Sakumaha, Kelichi Osunwa and Wawa Robert (El Mereikh).
