Luanda — The Angolan soccer player Djalma Campos Friday joined the working session of FC Porto, after missing the start of preparation of the European League champions, says the Portuguese daily “A Bola.”
According to the newspaper, which considers the player an outstanding hiring of FC Porto side, Djalma joined the Portuguese club just today because his contract with Maritimo has officially ended only on Thursday.
The Angolan shone in recent years in the Maritimo and he eventually arrived at Dragon Stadium wanting to succeed and help the Portuguese champions to defend their title and go far in the European Champions League, one of the goals set by the club.
Djalma will no longer find the coach who gave approval for his hiring, Andre Villas Boas, who moved to Chelsea, after winning European League. He comes to FC Porto at no cost, but he is seen as a safe and important value for a team that usually does not commit mistakes in hiring new players.
