Africa Division II Twenty20 champions Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya arrive today for the Africa Division I tournament set for July 9-15 in Kampala.
Justine Ligyalingi, the local cricket body CEO, disclosed that the three countries, which have automatic slots to next year’s Global qualifier, had opted to pitch camp in Uganda in a bid to acclimatise. They will play a series of warm-up matches at Kyambogo, Entebbe and Lugogo ovals. “They want to be in town ready for action,” said Ligyalingi during a press conference at Lugogo yesterday morning.
At the same briefing, Crown Beverages Uganda through their Pepsi brand, announced Shs100m sponsorship package. The sponsorship will cater for refreshments and entertainment among other things.
